I first became interested in mapping after playing Doom 2 and created my first Doom 2 map in 1996 using the Deep editor. I concentrated on the single player game while creating maps for Doom 2.
I started designing Quake levels in 1997 using the Thred editor and did so for about a year until Unreal came out in the middle of 1998. I became hooked on Quake and Unreal mapping for different reasons; Quake, due to being the first true 3D first person shooter and Unreal because of its graphical beauty and greater draw distance.
I focused on single player maps with Quake and Unreal.
