Facial Picture I am a highly creative and adaptable games designer with over 12 years' professional experience. I have excellent conceptual, presentation and writing skills which have been central in securing contracts and licences for the companies I have worked for. I have consistently been placed in leading positions of responsibility requiring excellent communication, planning and team skills as well as considerable initiative.

As well as working on 11 titles professionally I have also been a keen mapper and modder for the past 13 years, building levels for many of the best known first person shooters.



Abilities


Lead design: conceptual design, maintaining game focus and vision through development, creation of USP’s, giving design presentations, leading a design team, writing and maintaining a GDD, scheduling, interviews, writing tutorials and guidelines, best practice presentations, pipeline design and development.


Level design: mission design, level layout, level creation and illustration in SketchUp, Maya and multiple level editors, prop placement, ai placement, level scripting, presentation of levels, liaising with artists/programmers, level editor design, texturing.


Game design: creating and developing game mechanics, camera design, controls design, character design, a.i. design, G.U.I. design, front-end design, multiplayer game design, prototyping and testing mechanics.

12 years' experience of documenting every aspect of game design: game design documents, technical design documents, level design documents, concept documents, creating presentations for publishers, script writing.

13 years experience of mapping and modding first person shooter levels.

Considerable experience of liaising with publishers, archive companies, translation companies and license holders.

Ability to apply an awareness of the games and wider entertainment markets and consumer trends to game design.
